Job Description

The ESG Operational Officer will be the content expert for the development, deployment, and sustainability strategy of the NUDU software platform. He will represent NUDU as a thought leader to prospects and clients, focusing on ESG principles, data governance, and compliance with regulations such as CSRD and ESRS.

This role involves embedding regulations, amendments, and customer input into the product development lifecycle, product roadmap, and company operations, positioning the platform for long-term growth. 

This is a unique opportunity to integrate ESG leadership with the company's strategic direction and technological innovation. The ideal candidate should possess deep subject matter expertise, strong communication, relationship-building, and consultative skills. He must bridge the gap between ESG legal frameworks, the technical aspects of the software platform, and customer business needs, while demonstrating how ESG compliance adds value to the customer's organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ESG Product Strategy: Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement a comprehensive ESG strategy that fully integrates ESG and ESRS standards into the software product.

  • Data Governance and Privacy: Lead the creation of data governance policies and security practices to ensure ESG and compliance guidelines (such as ESRS) align with industry standards for privacy, cybersecurity, and ethical data use.

  • Sustainable IT Practices: Work closely with IT and engineering teams to promote energy-efficient infrastructure, sustainable cloud computing, and responsible AI technologies. Optimize the platform’s environmental impact, reduce its carbon footprint, and ensure ethical technology usage.

  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure full compliance with ESRS and other relevant sustainability regulations. Oversee sustainability reporting processes, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and alignment with stakeholder expectations.

  • Product and Platform Responsibility: Collaborate with product development teams to embed ESG considerations, such as digital inclusion, accessibility, and responsible technology use, into product features and services.

  • Risk Management: Conduct impact assessments and risk evaluations related to the platform’s social, environmental, and governance practices. Advise on how IT systems can mitigate ESG risks, including strengthening data protection and enhancing transparency in operations.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary ESG point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including customers, investors, and regulatory bodies. Communicate the company’s ESG goals and performance effectively to ensure alignment with IT development goals.

  • Training and Awareness: Provide training for technical teams on ESG principles and their impact on software development, infrastructure management, and data governance.

 

Qualifications
  • Experience: 7-10 years in ESG roles, with a focus on integrating ESG in technology environments within the EU.
  • Thought Leadership: Deep knowledge of ESG frameworks (CSRD/ESRS) and experience implementing them in business operations and supply chains.
  • Technical Knowledge (Preferred): Understanding of software development, IT infrastructure, and how AI intersects with ESG, ethics, and data privacy.
  • Analytical & Project Management: Strong skills in overseeing ESG projects, evaluating technology-related ESG risks, and recommending improvements.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly present complex ESG/ESRS concepts to diverse audiences, including non-experts.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Understanding customer pain points and aligning ESG/ESRS solutions with business goals.
  • Technical Aptitude: Translate ESG needs into functional requirements to support product development.
  • Business Acumen: Align ESG goals with strategic priorities and demonstrate the business value of sustainability.
  • Consultative Approach: Serve as a trusted advisor, asking the right questions to propose tailored ESG solutions.
  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain customer trust.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Ownership of the ESG function, comfortable with ambiguity, and proactive in early-stage environments.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in ESG reporting, compliance, and data management.
