Description

We are looking for a talented Supplier Quality Engineering Manager – Senior to join our team specializing in Quality for our CORPORATE CATEGORIES SQE in UK, Daventry, Cummins Co Ltd.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Build and Strengthen Relationships: You will enhance the quality and business outcomes by fostering strong relationships with key partners—suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders such as Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Engineering. This includes a specific focus on managing and growing supplier relationships within the datacenter market.
  • Develop Team Capabilities: Through coaching and mentoring, you will help build and elevate the skills and competencies of your team, enabling them to handle increasingly complex product categories and supplier relationships.
  • Enhance Supplier Quality Talent: By offering growth opportunities and stretch assignments, you will invest in the development of supplier quality professionals, preparing them for higher-level roles and challenges.
  • Lead Strategic Initiatives: You will exercise strategic leadership by designing and executing global initiatives that transform supplier development techniques, quality performance, and engineering capabilities.
  • Drive Operational Success: By managing global work plans and aligning stakeholders, you will ensure that the company meets its annual business objectives, addressing the needs of both internal and external customers.
  • Apply Industry Best Practices: Leveraging your knowledge of APQP, AIAG tools, and Cummins-specific tools, you will lead the charge in developing zero-defect components, ensuring top-quality performance from suppliers.
  • Resolve Complex Quality Challenges: You will sponsor and lead root cause analyses and corrective actions to solve high-complexity quality issues, utilizing global expertise to ensure effective solutions.
  • Support Corporate Strategic Goals: By guiding regional implementation of strategic tools and processes, you will contribute to the success of broader corporate or business-led initiatives, driving continuous improvement. This includes ensuring supplier management aligns with the growth goals in specific markets such as datacenters.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead and grow global teams, particularly in EMEA and APAC, while improving processes and talent in Specialized Procurement.
  • Supplier Quality Expertise: Apply deep knowledge in supplier management and quality systems to implement sustainable quality standards, with a particular emphasis on the datacenter market.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with global teams across functions to ensure quality planning, meet strategic goals, and deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data to drive decisions, communicate performance metrics, and support continuous improvement and alignment with long-term plans.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject required
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Preferably 7 years experience in a Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience preferred

This role is not limited to any location closer to any Cummins facility in United Kingdom only, it can be performed from anywhere in Europe, any location closer to any Cummins facility.
