How you will make an impact
The availability and quality of IT applications is critical to patient safety and care and the efficient and effective operation of Cabrini Health. The Technical Specialist – Applications provides technical support for the portfolio which spans clinical, administration and corporate applications. This integral role acts as a primary escalation point for technical application issues, managing releases and will become a subject matter technical expert in application configurations, root cause analysis and functionality. Your knowledge and skills will allow you the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the organisation’s digital transformation plan that facilitates improvements to administrative, corporate and clinical applications within a 24/7 hospital environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Operate as a trusted advisor throughout technology and the broader organisation providing solutions advice relating to technology applications
Influence decision making and investment priorities toward the agreed future state architecture
Responsible for the technical design, configuration, testing, implementation, and technical support of Cabrini applications
Ensure applications availability within SLAs
Deliver product enhancements, upgrades and projects, and ensure delivery commitments to Service Units are achieved
Encourage and instil a culture of patient first across technology, understanding of goals and where value can be added
Actively reflect on day-to-day activities, looking for continuous improvement opportunities across people, process, and tools
Build and maintain business relationships with stakeholders, including those within IT, across the organisation, and external suppliers, based on trust and delivering to expectations
About you
This role will suit a highly motivated and passionate Technical Application Specialist to work collaboratively within our dynamic and friendly team of application, system, integration and database administrators.
You will also have the following:
A minimum 3 years’ technical application administration experience
High proficiency in administrating applications hosted on Windows and Unix environments
Knowledge in HTML/XML, PL/SQL, T-SQL, Unix Shell Script, JavaScript
Experience with .NET development
Highly proficient in RedHat Linux commands, Windows Server 2012+
Exposure to report writing using MS Reporting Services and Cyberquery
Exposure to integration preferably supporting HL7 messaging
Exposure to WebPAS, Medchart, iPharmacy, Charm and other hospital applications
Knowledge of Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, File and Print services
Demonstrated ability to be a subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administrating complex applications
Excellent troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving performance issues, tuning and proactively monitoring
Ability to build relationships with other IT team members, health professionals and ability to interact with medical and nursing staff
Sound written and verbal communication skills
