Job description

Position Overview:

As a Part-Time Corporate Legal Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our company adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements specific to the fintech and SaaS sectors. You will provide strategic legal guidance, assist with corporate governance, and help manage legal risks associated with our innovative technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer legal advice on matters related to fintech regulations, SaaS agreements, data privacy, and intellectual property.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, including software licensing agreements, service agreements, and partnership contracts.
  • Advise on compliance with financial regulations, data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and cybersecurity standards.
  • Support corporate governance and internal policies, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Provide legal counsel on mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address legal issues and mitigate risks associated with our technology and business operations.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings or negotiations as necessary.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting the fintech and SaaS industries.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal compliance training programs.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in corporate law, with a focus on fintech, SaaS, or technology sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience with fintech regulations, data privacy laws, and software licensing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a part-time or flexible role is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with fintech-specific regulations and compliance issues.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in the fintech and SaaS industries.
  • Prior experience advising on international data protection regulations.
