Would you like to use your finance experience in a highly visible role to make a difference? We are looking for a Manager of Accounting, Royalties to join our Corporate Finance team! In this role, you will be responsible for leading the rights-out Royalty Accounting team, assessing technical accounting impacts, identifying efficient accounting and business processes, and overseeing continuous improvement and system solutions for the Royalty Accounting team.       

 

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Accounting, the Manager of Accounting will lead the global accounting process for royalty revenue including supporting accounting, finance, and business operations as part of a growing portion of the Company’s business. Success in this role requires being driven and innovative, with a strong work ethic and a leadership style characterized by a straightforward style, approachability, a team orientation, and collaboration!

 

This role can be based remotely in the US and requires the ability to work Eastern Time hours and approximately 25% travel to our office in Rhode Island.

 

 A day in the life of the Manager of Accounting, Royalties:

  • Manage royalty revenue accounting program under ASC 606, including but not limited to accurate calculation and account classifications. 
  • Oversee the process of tracking licensee guarantee and overage payments, managing past due reporting, and communicating with licensees.
  • Provide leadership and development to maintain a motivated and effective staff.
  • Partner with business operations and finance business partners to ensure royalty accounting is aligned to business and operational needs.
  • Implement continuous improvement and modernization efforts across royalty system and business process to ensure an efficient system and business processes.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors to assist in their completion of audits.
  • Build relationships and regular communication with operational leaders to provide direct and timely assistance on matters that have accounting and reporting implications.
  • Complete ad hoc projects.

 

What you’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Minimum 2 years public accounting experience and/or public company experience. Big 4 experience preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, a Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. A comprehensive knowledge of ASC 606 is preferred.
  • Experience in reviewing and understanding contracts; knowledge of licensing industry and royalty accounting preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and meet deadlines.
  • Reviews performance and progress on a regular basis to ensure the team is achieving results.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a team, including development of staff.

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range: $91,600
  • Pay Range End: $177,700
