  • Job Description:
  • An experienced GCP Architect to lead the refactoring of a legacy cost transparency solution originally built in SCALA and to be migrated to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The architect will play a crucial role in designing and implementing the application’s migration to GCP, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and functionality. This role will involve working with claims data, Spanner, and other GCP services to build a robust cost estimation solution for healthcare providers and members.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Application Refactoring: Design and architect the refactoring of a legacy cost transparency solution to GCP, utilizing modern cloud-native principles and best practices.
  • Database Management: Manage and optimize the migrated metadata and claims data stored in GCP Spanner, ensuring efficient queries and data integrity.
  • Procedure Filtering and Cost Estimation: Architect the application code to filter healthcare procedures, associate them with the relevant procedure codes, and build cases for cost estimation.
  • Rule-Based Cost Calculations: Implement logic to estimate treatment costs for providers by integrating rules and calculating average costs, to be shared with members.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CVS tech manager, as well as internal teams, to ensure the seamless implementation of the solution.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Design: Provide expertise in designing and optimizing cloud architecture in GCP, including performance tuning, security, and cost management.
  • Technical Leadership: Guide development teams in best practices for cloud architecture, Spanner database management, and app refactoring.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation for the architecture, design decisions, and the migration process.
  • Required Technical Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of distributed databases, particularly Spanner.
  • Experience with healthcare data (claims, procedures, costs) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in cloud-native development, microservices architecture, and containerization.
  • Strong coding and scripting skills in languages such as Python  ( MUST HAVE ) , Java & Node.JS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of designing scalable, resilient solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
