Your missions

Deputy Program Manager

Fairwinds Technologies is looking for a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to assist with the management of all aspects of the program, including deliverables, partners, staff, and customer interaction, and the direction and coordination of program activities during all phases of the program to ensure overall program success.

Qualifications

  • ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance
  • 8+ years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience in Program/Project Management.
  • Proven track record of running Department of Defense (DoD) contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level. 
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively under pressure. 
  • Aptitude for both analyzing technical concepts and translating them into business terms, and for mapping business requirements into technical features. 

This position is contingent upon contract award. 

Responsibilities 

  • Supports a formal, documented Program/Project Management (PMO) by defining and leading program and project management best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and tracks all major program components including costs, schedules, resources, deliverables, etc.
  • Develop a strategic PMO plan and manage the tactical implementation of that plan.
  • Leads process development, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Identifies program and project deliverables.
  • Oversees and advises on issue escalation and resolution.
  • Administers project change management and generates project and program status reporting.
  • Accurately forecast costs, operating within established budgets, and attain margin improvement objectives.
  • Track tasks, milestones, performance, and progress for addressing identified risks. 
  • Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization and with customers using a wide array of communication vehicles, including verbal, written and body language techniques. 
  • Measure, analyze, and report on project performance.
  • Implement program/project management standards and best practices based on measurable success criteria.
  • Manage customer expectations and execute schedules. 
  • Coordinate the activities of the program and set priorities for their execution. 
  • Understanding of financials/cost/build financial management plan.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.  
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining program schedules in MS Project.  
  • Excellent written and organization skills.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, and practices. 
  • Close attention to detail and the ability to plan ahead.
  • Travel of up to 50% required.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.

Additional Experience Desired

  • PMP Certification
  • Knowledge of DoD contracting and practices

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:  

Must be eligible to work in the US. Must hold an ACITVE secret clearance.
