Your Role at Baxter:

The Senior Manager of Data Governance helps to drive the execution and adherence to the Enterprise Data Governance strategy and framework. This position excels in supporting their direct team in their day-to-day responsibilities and often has experience as a Subject Matter Expert via a direct contributor role.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Apply operational expertise to delivery on strategic and tactical roadmaps
  • Understand how the organization interacts both internally and externally with stakeholders; Effectively manages stakeholder expectations of their team.
  • Engage with business and functional resources to understand their current and future data/information needs
  • Ensure canonical reference models exist, are built, and maintained to support business needs; collaborate with IT architects to ensure enterprise canonical models are leveraged for consistency.
  • Gather and maintain current and future data flows; maintain data landscape documents and pictorials;
  • Collaborate with privacy and security officers to ensure that all restricted and sensitive data is protected, especially PII and PHI elements.
  • Directly lead data stewards, data analysts, and/or data architects as necessary depending on assigned responsibilities.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data policies and adoption of requirements across the enterprise.
  • Implement data profiling as needed to assess quality of critical data elements.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, law, business, statistics, mathematics, health informatics, finance or related field with 1 plus years of related data governance and/or data management experience.
  • 2 plus years relevant past leadership experience
  • Ability to deliver training and mentoring to direct reports and key business contacts.
  • Ability to run concurrent initiatives and prioritize or escalate if prioritization assistance is needed.
  • Empathy, curiosity, and desire to constantly improve, acquire new skills and drive for results.
  • Demonstrated ability in mentorship and growth of individual team members
  • Ability to collaborate and build trust with business, IT, and corporate functional partners.
  • Knowledge of business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets!
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations
  • Proficiency in data architecture, data quality, taxonomies, reporting & analytics, and the related data requirements.
  • Direct experience with Data Governance processes and tools such as data catalogs, data profiling or data modeling
  • Experience leading a team towards shared data governance objectives.

This role is 100% remote.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $144,000 to $198,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
