THE ROLE

 

Reporting to the Cyber Defense Lead Engineer, the Cyber Defense Engineer will, manage and perform all activities associated with the Cyber Defense services. This includes partnering with our MSSP to drive process optimisation and service improvements. They will be the main point of contact for cyber-related events such as SEIM maintenance, Cyber toolset management, log onboarding with use case development and day-to-day running of the security operations centre.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Run as an SME for Cyber services such as Zscaler, Qualys, Microsoft Security stack, CyberArk, etc.…
  • Design, implement, maintain, and test critical security operational processes, including but not limited to Incident Management, Vulnerability Management, SEIM services, etc.
  • Oversee the integration of security technologies across the organization's infrastructure.
  • Implement logging and monitoring underpinned by threat intelligence
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement measures to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
  • Working with projects, IT and business teams, plan and routinely conduct penetration testing of new and existing systems, where appropriate including Red Team testing.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvements to enhance the organization’s security posture.  

 

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Excellent stakeholder management
  • Expert in cyber security technologies and operational processes
  • Proven background as a global cyber engineer manager and running a team for a minimum of 7 years.
  • Strong experience in the use of security monitoring and response tools and processes, ideally on Sentinel. 
  • Strong experience in Cyber tooling such as Qualys, Zscaler, Microsoft Security stack, etc..
  • Knowledge of CIS, ISF, Mitre or NIST (or equivalent) security frameworks
  • Proven background in cyber operations and building log ingestion for the SEIM.
  • Cyber engineering qualifications
