Overview
The Logistics Analyst is responsible for ensuring full compliance of Logistics related policies. Support managing all inventory movements through domestic factories and local 3PL depots (warehouses); resolve import/export and transportation issues to ensure the steady flow of critically needed parts. This role reports to the Manager, Logistics, US.
This role will support the US Operations and some of the work hours will overlap with the US.
Working Hours (Japan local time) : 9am - 5:30pm (including 1 hour meal break)
Responsibilities
- Communicate with necessary parties to resolve issues concerning transportation, logistics, imports and exports.
- Arrange both domestic and international transportation between Veeco sites, vendors, and third party warehouse locations
- Draft commercial invoices and handle custom clearance and Logistics processes in detail on a daily basis.
- Ensure full compliance of Logistics related policies in local logistics activities.
- Handle related SAP transactions used in support of Logistics processes.
- File claims with carriers and follow up as needed.
- Perform SAP functions such as stock transport orders, parts extensions, and outbound deliveries to support goods movements.
Qualifications
Degree holder in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline, with minimum 5 years' experience in related role and understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain and Logistics (transportation/ distribution/ warehousing/ inventory management); and international trade/export regulations/procedures.
Abilities; Knowledge; Skills
- A fast learner and good team player who is self-driven with the ability to work in a demanding role and meeting tight deadlines.
- Must be patient, detailed-oriented and organized; possessing strong written and oral communication skills.
- Microsoft office skills required.
- SAP experience with Warehouse/Logistics functions strongly preferred.
- Fluent in both spoken/written English and Japanese.
