MeF JEE/Java (Portal) Developer

Statement of Work:

MeF is a platform for electronically filing returns with the IRS. It provides SOA based web services that filers

use to submit returns and provides web applications for IRS users to work with the returns. MeF validates

filed returns, determines their disposition, and interfaces with other IRS systems for downstream processing

of the returns. IBM developed and enhanced MeF since 2001.  This role is remote. Candidates must be able to work 8:00am-5:00pm EST.  

* This role requires an IRS Minimum Background Investigation MBI/ 58C Tier 2RS clearance within the last two years

Task Description:

Developer to design and develop JEE/Web Application with user interface experience as part of the IRS

MeF Portal Applications. Comply with project guidelines, perform unit and integration testing, maintain web

applications as required.

Primary Duties:

• Design and develop Web Applications as part of the IRS MeF solution in compliance with project guidelines - 50%
• Perform unit and development level integration testing as needed - 15%
• Perform code maintenance based on needs of IBM testing, customer testing, and production issues. -15%
• Support of integration of MeF Portal Web Applications with MeF Backend application - 10%
• Documentation of software design and code - 10%

 Required Skills/Level of Experience:

• JEE (Web Application, REST, Servlets, JSP, XML, JAXB, SAX, DOM, Log4J), HTML 5.0, JavaScript, XSLT, SOAP - 8 years
• Spring MVC v5.x framework, React, Angular, Maven, Section 508 - 4 years
• JBoss EAP v7.x Development and Administration - 4 years
• Apache Web Server v 2.4 - 4 years
• Develop automated unit tests with JUnit - 4 years
• Rational Software Architect or Eclipse or JBoss studio - 3 years

Preferred Skills:

• IBM EWM for source code and defect management
• RedHat OpenShift, Dockers, Kubernetes, Springboot
• AWS

 Other Skill/Requirement

• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Word
• Engineering Workflow Management (WSM), formerly Rational Team Concert (RTC)
• CMMi Level 3
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• The salary for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 annually
