As a Disability case manager, you help process life and health insurance claims, promote occupational health, and manage disabilities.   • Develop strategies and build strong relationships to establish an intervention plan to facilitate the insured's recovery and return to work in a timely and sustainable manner

  • Communicate by phone and mail with various parties to develop a comprehensive understanding of the elements and context related to the absence and communicate decisions to the insured and the policyholder

  • Approve and adjudicate claims, process waivers of premium, establish the amount of the benefit, determine the period payable and proceed with the payment and ensure the necessary follow-ups are completed

  • Prepare documents needed by the organization’s rehabilitation coordinator for claimant interviews. Review claims with medical consultants and the legal department as required

  • Process disability claims in accordance with the terms of the group insurance contract.

What you bring to the table

  • College diploma in a related field

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience in managing short and long-term disability claims or in a similar position in group insurance or experience as a healthcare professional

  • Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec

  • Advanced intermediate proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
