Job Summary

VSolvit is currently seeking experienced and highly qualified Senior System/Cloud Administrators to provide support to our US Navy customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing AWS Government Cloud Infrastructure and environments, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability of cloud-based systems. This role demands a strong understanding of AWS services, cloud architecture, and best practices in cloud security and governance. The role involves monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing cloud resources, implementing best practices for security and compliance, and providing technical support for cloud-based applications and services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide AWS Commercial Cloud systems administration including administration for AWS Managed Services
  • Provide administration support for Windows Servers and Active Directory in AWS Cloud environment
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot applications in AWS environment. 
  • Develop procedures, programs and documentation for IT system, backup and restoration of operating systems, data replication across cloud data centers, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts such as the Systems Security Contingency Plan and Disaster Recover Procedure.
  • Develop and coordinate project directions and schedules to maximize benefits and minimize impacts on the customer organizations.
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessment for system and perform system migrations as required. Participate in network and system design to ensure implementation of appropriate system security policies. Perform Security Technology Implementation Guide (STIG) and Information Assurance (IA) validation as required.
  • Apply required IA and security requirements and other required operating system and software updates. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology, business, or equivalent field
  • Seven (7) Years practical experience in a system administration in a Cloud/Windows environment
  • Experience in AWS Cloud systems administration, AWS Cloud Formation templates, AWS security (security groups, route tables, firewall rules), AWS EC2 and EBS, etc.
  • Experience in administration of Windows servers and Active Directory (Manage group policy, group policy objects, users, and groups), PowerShell scripting, Windows server RDS Licensing configuration, IIS Web server administration, and Windows Server troubleshooting
  • Experience in Windows system upgrades, migration to latest version, system patching, addressing security vulnerabilities, and maintaining services within latest security compliance guidelines
  • Proficiency with AWS services including CloudWatch, Lambda, EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, Route 53, RDS, Redshift in a highly available and scalable production environment
  • Experience with STIG and remediating vulnerabilities reported in ACAS and other security standards
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Linux and other Unix based operating systems
  • Experience with web server administration in systems including Microsoft IIS and Apache
  • Possess a systematic problem-solving approach and strong sense of ownership to drive problems to resolution
  • Understanding of network technologies such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, and load balancing
  • Experience documenting processes systems, systems, environments, and runbook procedures
  • Experience with US Navy RMF processes and artifacts
  • Experience with scripting languages including Python, Bash, and PowerShell
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen 
  • Meet IAT I requirements by holding current certification in or more of the following:
    1. A+ CE
    2. CCNA-Security
    3. CND
    4. Network+ CE
    5. SSCP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current certification as AWS Cloud Engineer, System Administrator, or Solutions/Application Architect
  • Prior network administration experience
  • Advanced understanding DOD STIGs and ability to provide direction based on STIGs
  • Expertise with US Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Meet IAT 3 requirements by holding current certification in or more of the following:
    1. CASP+ CE
    2. CCNP Security
    3. CISA
    4. CISSP (or Associate)
    5. GCED
    6. GCIH
    7. CCSP
