Your missions

Title: Contract Writer, Snowboarder.com

Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract

Location: Remote USA

First Look:

The Arena Group is seeking a niche outdoors-loving contract writer with excellent writing skills and online know-how to join Snowboarder.com. The writer will be responsible for producing a mix of quick-turnaround, 350-word articles and longer-form more evergreen assignments on a daily basis, which will be assigned each morning.

The Arena Group’s expected hourly rate for this position is $25 USD per hour.

What You’ll Do:

  • Writing multiple short, quick-turnaround articles on topics related to snowboarding

  • Searching social media channels of key players in the niche industry to find potential sources of content

  • Searching for and choosing appropriate photos for each article

  • Pitching ideas for articles to editors on a daily, ongoing basis

  • Working with our Evergreen Editor on longer-form evergreen articles

  • Keeping the editorial calendar updated with the status of your assignments  

  • Accepting and applying feedback from editors to improve the quality of articles

What You’ll Bring


  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • At least 1-2 years of writing experience, preferably in a news capacity

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the niche culture of snowboarding

  • First-hand experience and participation as a snowboarder

  • Vast knowledge of the key players in the snowboarding community

  • A genuine interest in outdoor adventure/snow sports as a whole
