Job description 

EHN Canada provides Mental Health and Addictions services to Canadians across the country, both in person and online. This is an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary Outpatient team that is focused on quality care, evidenced-based treatment, working in a virtual environment.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Nurse Practitioner will provide a comprehensive assessment online for clients experiencing mental health and addictions related issues; provide treatment management, guidance and prescribe medications in accordance with the statutory and regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working within the scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner, provide comprehensive care to clients in Saskatchewan with a variety of mental health and addiction conditions.
  • Perform mental and physical health assessments, considering differential diagnoses, occasionally assisting clients in crisis.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients and families regarding health findings, diagnosis, treatment.
  • Evaluate and prescribe client medications.
  • Support detox protocols, OAT and other withdrawal therapies.
  • Independently assess and follow up with clients as needed.
  • Consult with the clinical team as needed.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based strategies to improve care.
  • Participate in creating and evaluating policies.  
  • Build and develop relationships with healthcare stakeholders in Saskatchewan.
  • Collaborating with Admissions Team to determine eligibility for intake and develop initial care plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current Nurse Practitioner registration within Canada; in good standing. Willing to register with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan.   
  • Previous experience with clients and populations with substance use/mental health concerns is an asset.
  • Minimum of four years of recent Nurse Practitioner experience.
