Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Global Fiber Leader to be based in our Arlington, VA office reporting directly to the Technology Solutions Global Practice Leader.  This position is open to a remote working situation.

The Technology Solutions’ Global Fiber Leader will focus on:

  • Developing and leading the global strategy for AECOM’s fiber practice as a whole
  • Developing global market strategies and further developing AECOM’s Digital Infrastructure service offerings across all regions and business lines where applicable
  • Will be responsible for the successful advisory, consultation, design, management and implementation of digital infrastructure solutions for various private sector Tech clients as well as public sector clients requiring digital infrastructure solutions
  • Provide expertise in areas including stakeholder collaboration, strategic planning, build and investment optimization, ROI and competitive analysis, legal and policy review

Below are the core responsibilities of the position:

Leadership Competencies

  • Articulates the Technology Solutions’ Global Fiber strategy and vision and effectively implements the strategy across regions and market sectors
  • Will act as the major client contact to consistently deliver on client goals, objectives, and requests.
  • Regularly meet with clients to prepare and negotiate fees and contracts
  • Manages multiple project teams with overall responsibility for work quality, employee growth and profitability
  • Implements defined operational duties required to reach identified goals and develops and nurtures existing and prospective client relationships
  • Works to advance our reputation for quality and industry leadership

Financial Responsibilities

  • Recognized ability to impact revenue and growth
  • Will utilize their advanced understanding of business principles and effectively utilize available financial tools to facilitate intelligent decisions regarding company resources
  • Works with the Technology Solutions practice leader to establish budgets and profitability targets for the specialty they manage
  • Understands and is held accountable for actions that impact profit and loss. Responsible for maintaining their team’s utilization ratio

Revenue Generation

  • Will act as the company’s representative with clients and develop a client following, striving for a high client retention
  • Takes a lead role in business development, identifying and cultivating new relationships
  • Conducts research on potential prospects and directs approach to attain a successful competitive advantage for the opportunity
  • Frequently prepares and leads marketing interviews
  • Negotiates contracts
  • Identifies, maintains, and cultivates essential relationships

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in related design field plus 10 (ten) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • This position requires a highly technical, self-motivated, customer-focused professional with strong communication and advisory skills who is committed to delivering collaborative and complex digital infrastructure solutions
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in the area of practice
  • Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects and tasks
  • Maintains effective communication with peers in the practice and team members
  • Interacts well with other specialties, business lines and clients in a manner that builds productive relationships
  • Strong mentor and coach of team members and peers
  • Exhibits solid leadership skills that support and advance the practice goals and vision
  • Operates with a high level of independence, but coordinates and works within the practice on complex assignments
