Your Mission

As a UI VFX Artist, you will dive into the realm of Sanctuary where you'll collaborate closely with a talented team of game designers, product managers, engineers, and artists to conceptualize, design, and iterate across all social gameplay features and systems. You will bring your experience with visual effects, node-based systems, VFX authoring tools and game interaction to help our team produce high fidelity UI Art VFX assets.

Location flexible:

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Albany, NY or Irvine, CA.

What you bring to the table: 

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Working with UI Art leads to ensure style is consistent with established DIV guidelines.
• Author new materials for our existing UI pipeline.
• Implement assets into proprietary engine under guidance of UI team and engineering.
• Find opportunities to improve implementation standards, process, and collaborative workflows.
• Ensure VFX operates within performance budget.
• Provide estimates on the level of effort needed for requested tasks.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a VFX Artist, with 1+ shipped title having owned UI related features.
• Experience crafting high-fidelity VFX within time and budget constraints.

Knowledge & Skills

• An understanding of color theory, typography, composition, and visual hierarchy.
• An ability to work within and improve upon existing style guidelines.
• Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.

Key Attributes

• A collaborative mentality and ability to receive and iterate based on feedback.

Bonus Points

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to provide visual concepts in After Effects.
• Basic understanding of UI principles (layout, typography, visual hierarchy).
