Senior Analyst, Corporate Development

The Corporate Development team supports the growth aspirations of Lithia & Driveway (LAD) primarily through acquisitions and divestitures. The Senior Analyst position supports the Director of Network Development in the evaluation, presentation, and integration of dealership acquisitions and divestitures. Responsibilities include preparing models for valuations, producing management summary presentations, supporting due diligence, data integration processes, and completing other ad hoc analysis related to acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and capital projects. The position is an integral role within Corporate Development supporting our LAD plan for growth and execution. The specific role may be fine-tuned based on the candidate.

Relocation to Medford, Oregon may be required for this position.

Position Overview

Area of Responsibility

General

  • Facilitate working relationships across multiple departments including senior management, franchise & dealer services, reporting & analytics, technical accounting, legal and real estate teams.
  • Work cross-functionally to provide internal customers with reporting and tools that meet their unique and evolving needs.
  • Present to regional and senior management as needed.
  • Potential to lead analysts as needed and together accomplish core department responsibilities in a timely manner, including training and delegating as appropriate.

Acquisitions & Divestitures

  • Provide key information by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Disseminate financial statements and perform detailed financial models and valuation analysis for potential transactions, occasionally working directly with senior members of target companies.
  • Oversee financial and operational due diligence processes on prospective acquisitions and divestitures, including working with functional areas and operating teams.
  • Conduct market, brand and demographic research supporting acquisition and market planning activities.
  • Support other corporate development projects such as new add points, capital project analysis and divestiture analysis, as needed.

Data Integration

  • Assist in historical acquisition data integration processes including reconciliation of Trial Balances, Financial Statements, and addback breakdowns, and participate in discussions with senior management.
  • Ensure all appropriate information is received and internalized to allow for proper and complete data integration.
  • Coordinate with regional and support services teams to ensure alignment and meet presentation deadlines.
  • Coordinate with internal reporting teams to ensure seamless and accurate data transition from acquired businesses.
  • Identify standard operating procedure (SOP) efficiency opportunities and lead process improvement initiatives.

Additional Qualifications

The following knowledge, skills and abilities are needed to be successful in this position:

  • 2-4+ years of previous experience in a related role, accounting experience or financial analysis
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Economics or any equivalent combination of background, skills, and experience
  • Time Management – Self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with the demonstrable ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands while ensuring all data is fully interpreted and supportable.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency is critical
  • Critical Thinking – using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems and solve complex problems
  • Ability to quickly gain an understanding of Lithia & Driveway’s business operations and acquisition strategy
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis, forecasting and valuation (IRR, DCF, ROI)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral to communicate complex key data to senior management
  • Working knowledge of EPBCS, FCCS, ArcGIS, Snowflake, PowerBI a plus
