Remote position within Argentina & Uruguay
RYZ Labs is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join one of our client’s teams. They are building a global clearing house for the music industry, helping artists, songwriters, and other rights holders get paid faster and more accurately. Their product is at the intersection of music publishing, copyright, and technology.
As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be building the foundation of a music data platform. You will be designing and scaling services that handle large amounts of data, making it useful and searchable for the product teams internally, as well as for the rights holders externally. You will be reporting to the CTO and will be collaborating with the executive team to ensure the success of our strategy.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Comfortable writing production code with Python and/or Typescript
- Extensive experience in developing and deploying large, distributed systems.
- Familiarity with large-scale data processing tools and platforms like Hadoop, Spark, or their equivalents.
- Experience with one of AWS/GCP/Azure cloud platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, ECS, and EMR.
- Experience with Node.js, Docker- Background in the copyright space, particularly in music or related media industries. - Bonus points for experience working with text embeddings and search infrastructure
- Love of music is a plus! Especially knowledge of music composition and publishing
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy scalable, efficient systems for our music copyright platform
- Design and build large-scale distributed systems that can process massive amounts of external data and integrate it into products to meet client requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align technical strategies with business goals
- Develop features and improvements in a secure, well-tested, and performant manner
- Understand the intricacies of music copyright and music metadata standards in the United States and around the world
