What you’ll be doing...

Access Invoice Validation/Cost Assurance

Every month, we analyze and audit vendor invoices utilizing automated and ad-hoc audit routines, as well as digital finance tools, to identify billing errors and dispute opportunities. Your ability to interpret contracts, tariffs, service orders, etc. will be vital to help us manage our relationships with the vendors. You’ll explain and document our position on disputes, and communicate and negotiate with vendors. This role will positively impact both our financial margins, cash flow and ongoing partnership with our vendors.

  • Performing routine and advanced audits on invoices received from vendors and filing appropriate claims.

  • Developing detailed supporting documentation and explanations to support material disputes regarding invoices.

  • Consulting with internal resources in Legal, Regulatory, Network Engineering and Carrier Management to support and resolve open claims.

  • Communicating and negotiating with vendors to effectively resolve claims.

  • Developing and mentoring others to build capability in the Bill Audit, Invoice Validation and Cost Assurance teams.

  • Provide location-based analytics, evaluation and utilization analysis to identify disconnect or grooming opportunities in the network. Other analysis includes analytics to identify network redundancy and off-net to on-net migrations.

  • Analyze contracts, agreements, service orders and research other sources of potential data to identify dispute opportunities. Other source data may include ordering and provisioning systems, and internal Verizon software tools such as IVerify.

  • Development of and timely delivery of reports to accounting so appropriate reserves are carried and proper support is available to support external audits.

  • Provide decision making support for the Business unit leadership, Legal and Carrier Management on strategic initiatives such as global settlements, litigation, International regulatory initiatives, initiatives to minimize monthly termination liabilities incurred and optimal discount plans to reduce 3rd party Telco expense.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll enjoy working on a team of dedicated individuals that analyze complex invoicing issues, while making important decisions about financial impacts within the Invoice Validation team. You’ll be driven by a desire to find opportunities to make a financial impact, and deliver favorable results to Verizon’s bottom line.

 You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in the telecommunications industry.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and proven ability to focus on the details.

  • Proven analytical skills and ability to work with large sets of data

  • Telco Audit experience

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
