ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Hiring Range: $100,000 - 125,000 base salary
The Accounting Manager is a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional with a track record of success overseeing and scaling accounting operations and financial reporting, as well as partnering with other business functions to make process improvements and drive corporate initiatives. This person will possess an ability to leverage their technical expertise, operational prowess, and leadership skills across our organization. The role is a blend of strategic vision and hands-on action, such as diving into tasks like journal entries or whatever the situation demands, and it offers a significant chance to make an impact on both Accounting and the overall company goals.
Key Responsibilities to include:
Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC Regulations.
Assist in building and leading a service-oriented team and related processes and internal controls to facilitate the flow of information, the timely processing of transactions, and the resolution of discrepancies.
Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard our accounting and close processes and enhance the reliability of financial information.
Assess and mitigate financial risks, providing recommendations for improvements and optimization.
Partner with business process owners to implement process efficiencies in the design, modification, or streamlining of processed and key controls.
Ensure appropriate documentation of internal controls including narratives, process flowcharts, control descriptions and risk control matrices. Identify areas of potential or real risks or gaps, develop and implement remediation plans and modifications to SOX documentation, workflows, and controls.
Support collaboration across departments to enhance cross-functional understanding of financial processes and outcomes.
Identify opportunities for system enhancements and leading implementation efforts to ensure the scalability of financial operations.
Perform other related duties as required or requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:
Ability to understand and account for complex accounting transactions.
Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional resources. Strong influencing skills with the ability to build effective partnerships across the organization.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to a fast-paced culture, changes in the environment and shifts in priorities.
Expertise in planning, project management and analysis.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Strong technical skills including knowledge of US GAAP and sound understanding of financial statements
Ability to think strategically and act operationally on overall business processes within Finance, general ledger systems and foreign currency translation
Highly organized and detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy
Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools
Demonstrated success in managing and scaling Corporate Accounting processes through rapid growth in a public company environment (tech companies are desirable).
Excited by the prospect of driving the evolution of the Corporate Accounting function, looking to elevate capabilities across people, processes, and systems.
Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and effectively navigate competing priorities.
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field is required.
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is required.
7+ years experience of practical work experience leveraging global processes and tools in areas of accounting operations and financial reporting.
3+ years experience managing/supervising staff at all levels within an Accounting group.
3+ years of experience with NetSuite ERP system required, experience in implementing new systems preferred.
Clearances as required by contract assignment.
