We are seeking a high impact supply chain professional to join our team. This Sr. Manager role leads a team of demand planners in developing forecasting models based on current and future industry trends to produce purchasing strategies and new item release sequences that capture market demand.  This position is a thought leader within our organization of innovative product lifecycle management methodologies and modern sales and operations planning processes to maintain our competitive advantage as the leader in the hobby industry.

This role cooperates and collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to drive market and financial value for the organization. The position requires strong organizational and analytical skills to create demand forecast scenarios successfully and new release plans that are strategic in nature to drive our company’s overall sales plan.

This role is being considered as a fully remote opportunity. Pay for this position - $120,000-$135,000/year. Placement within the pay range is based on experience and qualifications.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns for a rolling 18-month planning period for both revenue and inventory forecasts.
  • Actively participate and oversee the development of forecasts for New Proprietary via Go To Market meetings and focused reviews.
  • Develop and implement demand planning and sales forecasting processes, data collection and reporting of KPIs.
  • Develop & implement top line monthly revenue outlook snapshot showing progression of sales and “Demand Forecast” vs. the Monthly plan.
  • Using demand planning methodology and trend/variance root cause analysis- make demand planning corrective actions and improvement, including on new products – via New product early trend signals reporting to Supply planning.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Supply Planning and Finance to exchange insights and drive consensus.
  • Oversight and facilitation of Sales & Operational Planning cycle including development of relevant and meaningful data & documents for Demand Review, Including recommendation of updated Top Line revenue for the planning period and final Sr. Leadership Review & sign off.
  • Development of S&OP weekly, monthly, and annualized calendar of events and scheduling of meetings for required Horizon participants.
  • Continued challenge of S&OP process, documentation, communications, and actions and providing ongoing changes to improve process with input from participants and leadership critical to ongoing quality of the process and outputs.
  • Identify risks related to demand planning that could impact the revenue, inventory and fill rate business targets and develop a recommended mitigation plan.
  • Develop and coach a team of Demand planners to drive best in class performance. Identify gaps and address as necessary.
  • Other ad-hoc responsibilities, such as leading continuous improvement of Demand Planning tools in Oracle or other tools, research other tools to improve the Demand Planning process and team efficiency i.e. utilization of AI tools for Demand Planning.

Skills

  • Leadership qualities – integrity and commitment are foundational for others to take your lead and to be sought out as a mentor by others
  • Presentation skills – even though much of this role’s focus is on forecasting, analyzing, and tracking, must also be able to explain to others the reasoning behind recommendations
  • Familiarity with statistics - a solid understanding of applied math and the statistical software programs used to create forecasts is vital
  • Analytical thinking – advanced ability to analyze and use critical thinking skills on a regular basis is key
  • Tools of the trade: Microsoft Office Suite; Oracle, Logility (other supply chain planning software); Alliance (other ERP software), and Quick Base (other Business Intelligence tools).
  • 7+ yrs. of Demand Planning and Sales and Operational Planning management experience and historical continued improvement of critical S&OP goals
  • Demonstrated business acumen; the ability to understand the financial implications of demand and portfolio planning strategies and decisions.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related business field, i.e., Business Management, Marketing, Project Management, Statistics or Finance. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with an intermediate to advanced understanding of demand planning and supply chain management.
