Job description

Our story:

Every year millions of people are either filing their taxes in fear or giving up on their tax refund altogether. We're working on fixing that. Our intuitive app enables anyone, regardless of education or background, to file their taxes with newfound confidence.

Spread across Germany, Spain and the UK, the team at Taxfix Group with its brands Taxfix, Steuerbot and TaxScouts, is a compassionate group of solution-finders. We speak our minds openly, and with over 400 professionals, including tax experts, developers, and IT security experts, we're rich in ideas and voices. The group has facilitated more than 3.5 billion euros in tax refunds for its customers since its founding in 2016

Your challenge:

As a Senior Financial Analyst within the FP&A team, you will play a critical role in shaping our financial strategy. With the flexibility to work from home or our modern offices, you will be responsible for high-level strategic business planning, complex budgeting and forecasting, as well as leading variance analyses to ensure alignment with company objectives. You will also manage ad-hoc requests from senior leadership and contribute to long-term financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

You will report directly to our Head of FP&A, while collaborating with cross-functional partners, including accounting, marketing, product, and data teams. This role will have significant exposure to the management team, and you’ll have the opportunity to influence key strategic decisions.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and monitoring of business, liquidity, and budget planning, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategic direction

  • Take full ownership of key financial processes, including customer acquisition, staff, and OpEx planning

  • Create financial presentations and reports for board meetings, fundraising rounds, and other senior-level engagements

  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis and strategic ad-hoc analyses to guide senior management’s decision-making

  • Develop advanced financial insights and reports for senior stakeholders, driving forward the financial acumen of the organization

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, especially data, to create dynamic financial dashboards and deliver actionable insights to leadership

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, providing business partnering and strategic guidance on financial matters

  • Lead and manage independent projects aimed at improving reporting and planning processes across the organization

Your profile:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar financial role, preferably in a fast-paced start-up environment or with a background in consulting or investment banking

  • A data-driven mindset with a passion for discovering causal relationships and translating them into strategic business insights

  • Deep understanding of digital business models and familiarity with key metrics such as customer cohorts, lifetime value, and marketing ROI

  • Strong financial acumen, including a solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles

  • Proven ability to communicate complex financial concepts to senior stakeholders and influence decision-making at the leadership level

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-impact results

Why Taxfix?

  • A chance to do meaningful, people-centric work with an international team of passionate professionals.

  • Holistic well-being with free mental health coaching sessions and yoga.

  • A monthly allowance to spend on an extensive range of services that you can use and roll over as flexibly as you like.

  • Employee stock options for all employees—because everyone deserves to benefit from the success they help to create.

  • 30 annual vacation days and flexible working hours.

  • A generous learning budget to support your personal and professional development and guidance from our internal L&D experts.

  • Work from abroad for up to six weeks every year. Just align with your team, and then enjoy your trip.

  • Plenty of opportunities to socialise as a team. In addition to internal meetups, our international team hosts regular get-togethers—virtually and in person when possible.

  • Free tax declaration filing, of course, through the Taxfix app—and internal support for all personal tax-related questions.

  • Have a four-legged friend in your life? We’re happy to have dogs join us in the office.
