Position Summary:  The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for monitoring and processing all items related to the Deposit Operations function of the Bank. Assists bank’s internal and external clients with general deposit service inquiries and helps resolve issues. The Deposit Operations Specialist is familiar with general concepts, practices and procedures within the Deposit Operations function. 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Reviews new accounts opened, bank wide, for accuracy and completeness and compliance with established industry standards.
  • Ensures documents are appropriately categorized and scanned; creates or changes categories as appropriate.
  • Ensures exceptions are cleared within established deadlines for review.
  • Reviews and mails address change notices (new and old) and compares to change of address report (DP02150) with notices to be mailed.
  • Internal and external support for on-line banking to include consumer and business on-line banking and bill pay.
  • Internal and external support for mobile deposit, Zelle, ACH, tokens, remote deposit capture and wire transfers.
  • Uses FIS fraud detection tool to validate incoming check clearing.
  • Reconciles deposit related general ledger accounts and processes general ledger journals.
  • To maintain adequate coverage, provides back-up support for other positions within department. 
  • Required regular attendance at the FineMark location designated in this job description, during regular business hours, or assigned hours for the position, is required. This is not a remote-work position.

 

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • High school graduate or equivalent; three to five years banking/deposit operations experience
  • Prior experience with FIS preferred
  • Propensity to provide exceptional client service 
  • Proficient with mainframe, word processing and spreadsheet software programs is required
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Visual Acuity Requirements.  Close visual acuity and the ability to adjust focus, with or without correction, are required to perform activities such as, viewing a computer monitor or written materials and documents; reading; writing; preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; close visual inspection.  Some distance vision and color vision may be necessary. 

Environmental Conditions.  A person is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and only exposed to moderate noise; they may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts or machinery such as a copier/printer.
