This is a remote position for Costa Rica and Colombia
This position is Remote to work with a US Company, you will require to have Citizenship or work permit from Costa Rica or Colombia to apply for this role

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Core Java Developer at Architect Level to join our team, focusing on the development and enhancement of a core underwriting and claims system. This role will require deep expertise in Java, as well as experience with APIs and web services. Experience in the insurance industry is a plus but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and architect core Java-based systems for underwriting and claims processing.
• Develop and maintain high-quality code following best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs and web services.
• Analyze and improve system performance, scalability, and security.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.
• Ensure system reliability through testing and debugging efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Java development with strong knowledge of core Java.
• Experience with APIs and web services integration.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
• Knowledge of the insurance domain is advantageous but not required.
• Proven experience in system architecture and design.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team.

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience in the insurance industry.
• Understanding of underwriting and claims systems.
