eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Design, develop and build the next generation of messaging at eBay, impacting millions of people and billions of messages each year.  Design, build, refactor, and release large scale native software applications in a distributed global environment.  Own software features of each iOS application, lead development and software releases.  Implement agile practices and focus on continual improvement in software development practices, driven from the ground up.   Partner and collaborate with other organizations, allocate resources and staffing and ensuring adherence to quality engineering practices. Partner and collaborate with other teams to ensure allocation of resources and staffing which includes mentoring other engineers to raise the bar on the team’s technical knowledge and excellence. This position does not require supervision of other individuals.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. MVC, MVVM, MVVM-C architecture

2. Android Studio and Gradle

3. Experience integrating with REST/GraphQL services

4. Knowledge in modern Android API, concurrency/threading, layouts, UI transitions, and multi-threaded communications

5. Java or Kotlin

6. Continuous integration systems: Jenkins, Travis CI

7. Espresso or XCTest

8. TDD, pair-programming, and code reviews to maintain high-quality code and resiliency.

9. Jetpack Compose and Compose Navigation
 

Base salary: $234,062-$262,900 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
