Job Overview

We are seeking a visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our progressive banking firm, where you will be instrumental in defining our financial roadmap. As a vital member of the executive leadership team, you will offer strategic financial guidance to ensure the integrity and sustainability of the bank’s financial operations. Your expertise will direct all facets of financial management, including but not limited to reporting, budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management, and compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborating closely with our senior leadership team, you will support our mission to empower underserved communities and drive meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver strategic insights to senior management and the board to facilitate informed decision-making and long-term growth.
  • Lead financial evaluations for mergers, acquisitions, and growth strategies.
  • Oversee the finance and accounting teams to produce precise financial reporting and analysis.
  • Manage financial operations encompassing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and reporting.
  • Ensure effective asset and liability management through robust capital planning and liquidity oversight.
  • Strengthen operational efficiency by cultivating a strong internal control environment.
  • Streamline financial procedures and enhance data accuracy via financial IT systems.
  • Direct fundraising strategies and capital structuring in alignment with expansion goals.
  • Negotiate advantageous terms with vendors for cost-effective financial services.
  • Supervise internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze risks linked to organizational liabilities and investments, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Lead and develop a high-caliber finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous enhancement.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to advance profitability and identify revenue growth avenues.
  • Present financial updates to the Board of Directors, investors, and other key stakeholders, while cultivating strong relationships with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.

Required Skills

  • Profound understanding of U.S. GAAP and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in preparing and filing Call Reports with regulatory authorities.
  • Familiarity with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Minority Depository Institution (MDI), and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a focus on financial risk management and banking operations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen ability to listen actively.
  • Commitment to customer service, demonstrating sensitivity and professionalism in challenging situations.
  • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Collaborative spirit, contributing positively to team dynamics and overall success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related area.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within the banking sector.
  • Public accounting experience is advantageous.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and other financial software tools.
