Cochlear, the global market leader in implantable hearing solutions, offers a unique opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Technical Specialist South Balkan (m/f/d). This role is 100% remote (working from Bulgaria or Greece) and involves performing activities mainly in Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Albania.

The Opportunity

In this newly created position, you will provide clinical and technical support for the entire range of Cochlear products, including hardware and software solutions, to clinics, distributors, other B2B partners and patients within the South Balkan region (Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Albania).

Working in close collaboration with the Business Development Manager South Balkan and the distributors in the respective country, you play a key role in creating market opportunities for hearing implants and establishing Cochlear as the preferred brand.

Responsibilities include:

Provide Clinical Technical Support to Distributors, Clinical Professionals and Patients

  • Establish strong relationships with distributors and clinic professionals (e.g. Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Surgeons, Audiologists, Speech Therapists, Psychologists, and other Healthcare Professionals) by supporting them in delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Provide reliable clinical and technical support (on-site / phone / online) to distributors and clinical professionals. This includes performing device switch-on and fittings, solving complex cases, providing surgical support, and answering queries from professionals.
  • Perform regular distributor and customer visits and activities in line with the sales and marketing strategy.
  • Timely address complaints; forward them in accordance with the internal complaint reporting procedures, follow-up on results and feedback to professionals.
  • Support customers and partners in all aspects of the hearing implant treatment pathway (e.g. patient selection, candidate referring, reimbursement, (re-)habilitation, etc.)

Train Clinical Professionals and Distributor Staff on Cochlear's Products & Services

  • Provide on-site or online trainings on Cochlear's product and service offering. This includes introduction of new and established products, trainings on intraoperative measurements, surgical procedure and fitting of the sound processors.
  • Design and adapt training content in line with Cochlear's marketing guidelines.
  • Train professionals on the application of Cochlear's products and services. This includes the entire patient journey. From identification of suitable candidates for hearing implants, up to implant surgery and the respective aftercare.

Continuous Professional Development

  • Complete Cochlear's learning pathway for field staff, which comprises of different classroom trainings including product, clinical-technical and surgical trainings.
  • Actively participate in international and national cochlear implant or related conferences. You may act as a spokesperson and / or represent Cochlear at the booth.
  • Stay up to date with present literature on clinical technical topics (e.g. by joining the Cochlear Central Eastern Europe (CEE) Journal Club).
  • Make use of individual development opportunities by attending soft skills trainings and / or other relevant courses offered by our Cochlear Academy

Region-specific Requirements:

  • Travel within the region (Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Albania) is required (estimated 60%). Other international travel may be needed (10-20%).
  • Ability and willingness to work with people from different cultural backgrounds.

Your Profile:

  • Education: Degree in Audiology (or related profession like Acoustics, Speech Pathology) or ENT. Biomedical Engineering, Natural Sciences (Biology, Physics, etc.) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience. Previous work experience in an international company in the medical device industry and / or experience working with hearing impaired people is beneficial.
  • An affinity for technology and readiness to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with and present in front of different type of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Greek or Bulgarian and English
