Who will you be working with?

Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Management Accountant to join a well-established business that designs, manufactures, and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the Power Generation, Marine, and Rail Traction industries.

Role: Trainee Management Account

Salary: £Competitive

Location: LN5 7FD, Lincoln

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30am to 16:45pm and Friday 08:30am to 15:45pm

Hybrid: Monday's and Friday's potential to work from home following successful completion of probationary period (not a contractual condition)

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract 3 Years, Full-Time

Training Provision: Remote study fees paid to achieve Chartered Accountant Qualification (CIMA or ACCA)

How will you make a difference?

Build a strong understanding of all financial management and reporting systems, ensuring clarity on financial systems and processes to maximise efficiency.

What will your typical day look like?

  • As a Trainee Management Account, you will undertake a programme of training and development through planned placements within the accounting functional areas to gain a broad base of financial experience.
  • The role will be expected to contribute to all aspects of financial management to ensure high quality information is provided to stakeholders and work effectively to meet customer requirements.
  • The role objectives as the Trainee progresses through their qualifications will be to provide high quality advice, information, analysis, and interpretation to finance colleagues to underpin effective decision making and meet financial governance requirements across the business.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Ideally you will have a minimum of three A-levels in relevant subjects such as Mathematics, Economics, or Business, or a recent graduate from university with an interest in starting a career in finance.
  • Part qualified AAT candidates will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Ability to work and cooperate with others to successfully achieve tasks and deliver results.
  • Willing to assist in developing solutions to tackle problems and achieve outcomes.
  • Ability to review own performance and progression to learn from successes and setbacks.
  • Please note that this role will require successful study for a Professional Accountancy Qualification.
