Your missions

Company Description

We are looking for an Engagement Producer to join our newly formed Distribution Hub, which ensures our content reaches our audiences through social media platforms, direct messaging and newsletters.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with our national and regional news brands to help deliver content to a wider readership, interact with our readers, showcasing and creating discussion around the news that matters to them. This is a unique opportunity to work with iconic brands including but not limited to The Mirror and Daily Express to the Manchester Evening News, MyLondon, WalesOnline and beyond.

We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

So, who are we?

We are Reach Plc, you might not have heard of us but we have probably met without you even realising it. We are home to the UK and Ireland’s most iconic digital platforms, magazines and newspapers. From the Mirror, Daily Express and OK!, to our regional titles such as the Liverpool Echo, BirminghamLive and the Manchester Evening News (plus lots more), our brands and the stories we cover are as varied as our people. We help all kinds of people share experiences through our stories because we believe this is what makes us human.

Oh, and we should probably also mention that with a monthly readership of 47 million people, Reach is the largest commercial publisher in the UK. At Reach, not only will you feel better understood, you will also feel you understand other people better too.

This role is home based and we are therefore open to candidates based across the UK.

Job Description

What will the role involve?

You will manage various social media channels in accordance with distribution best practice and priorities, utilising platforms including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram and TikTok. You will curate and drive interest in newsletters, driving traffic and deepening reader engagement.

You will help to implement projects to grow our registered users, pitching ideas on how to broaden our audience. You will find new ways to promote content off-platform to engage new users. You will assist and support content editors and content writers when needed. This role involves working shifts on a rota pattern (shifts between 6am and 10pm), working 1 weekend in three, so a flexible approach is required.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

You have an NCTJ or equivalent journalism degree and knowledge of media law, as well as demonstrable content writing experience, preferably in a reporter role. You have excellent digital publishing skills and a good working knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, X and Instagram.

You are passionate about audience engagement and have a keen eye to spot trending news stories. You are keen to work across multiple platforms from social media to newsletters and want to learn how to utilise AI tools to improve the efficiency of how we distribute content to our readers.
