What is a QA engineer at Gozem ?

As our QA engineer for Gozem, you’ll navigate and identify weak spots, constantly design better and creative ways to break software and identify potential problems. You would use your knowledge of software testing to promote proper engineering practice, bug prevention strategies, testability, accessibility, privacy, and other advanced quality concepts across applications.

You will work in collaboration with our team of developers located around the world (Benin, Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Kenya, India, Sri Lanka...) areas.

Your tasks:

  • Improve the test automation experience at Gozem by enhancing tools/scripts, test coverage, and/or code structure, and automate repeated manual tasks to improve self/stream and productivity ;
  • Debug and analyze the bugs in the application, helping developers in arriving at the root cause with the help of our head of tech ;
  • Manage testing and delivery of your own tasks (manual testing) ;
  • Participate in product discussions to improve our features ;
  • Take responsibility for the entire life cycle of your stories : development, test, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements with the guidance of head of tech ;
  • Write concise, comprehensive, detailed test plans, and review the test cases/ test plans written by peers
  • Work closely with the Product team right from the inception of features
  • Understand business and product requirements as related to payments and the existing service architecture; gain a deeper understanding of the domain.

  • Have an experience in working with Web or API testing in both manual and automation
  • Are able to write clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Are able to use automated testing tools
  • Are detail oriented, have analytical skills and an inquisitive mindset

You have

  • Level of education: Master's degree (recommended but not required)
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Mandatory skills: Web or API testing in both manual and automation
  • Skills we are looking for in addition: experience in transport, ecommerce, and/or fintech domain is a plus
  • Tools to master: Asana, Trello, G-Suite, Jira
  • Languages :

Interview process

  • An initial introductory meeting with the recruitment manager (30 minutes)
  • A business case to be completed within 08 days
  • A presentation of your business case with the Lead QA and a time to discuss your professional experience
  • An interview of 45 minutes with our Head of product (future n+1) followed by a referral request (you give us 4 professional contacts to whom we send a questionnaire)
  • One final validation interview with one of our co-founders (optional)
