Job Description
We are looking for a Publication Professional to be part of the team - the role will be responsible for Publication Governance, driving Takeda Publication Standards and Quality across business units and functions, and will partner with, advise, and advocate for, appropriate use of Takeda Publication Standards and operating procedures, and according to industry publication best-practices, across the organization. This individual will also drive Operational Excellence through efficiency improvements, project management and goal tracking and analytics.
How You Will Contribute
- Develops and implements publication governance standards, SOPs, and best practices across the organization, in alignment with GPP and industry best practice; Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure publication processes are efficient and effective; spearhead process simplification and optimization, while ensuring compliance.
- Provides strategic thinking about the internal publication process/systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Establishes, communicates, and executes operational plans to enhance synergies and efficiencies across Global Publication Center of Excellence and Takeda-wide Publication Business Units and Regions in the delivery of high quality publication types.
- Leads vendor management activities with Global Publications and Procurement including communication of expectations and timelines, assurance that high-quality deliverables are received on time plus over-sight of contracting and financial tracking. Delivers publication governance standards, SOPs, and best practices across the organization, including, and not limited to, organizing content for update of key internal documents (policy/SOP/job aid) through developing working groups and ensuring key stakeholders are involved.
- Participates and/or leads process improvement initiatives including and not limited to project management process, and system improvement in close collaboration with technical IT stakeholders.
- Responsible to develop and implement analytics and metrics within Global Publications Center of Excellence, in support of the broader publication community; and apply analytics to identify areas of improvement, e.g. for training, knowledge management or system use; collaborate closely with Training Lead and Systems lead in the Global Publication Center of Excellence.
- Supports Publication goal definitions, set KPIs and monitor and report program progress; execute communication and change management plans.
- Partners with Publication teams across the Takeda organization to manage operational priorities, identify resource needs and tracks resources.
- Manages the planning, operations, and reporting of Global Pubs COE initiatives.
- Facilitates and leads collaboration, cooperation, and communication within the Global Publication Center of Excellence and where necessary across other GMA functions and other Operational Excellence teams, and between regional MA representatives in the extended team ensuring that team goals are achieved.
- Embodies leadership skills with strong team spirit and assertiveness, with good interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Able to lead and motivate internal stakeholders and external vendors by delivering high quality insights/analytics.
Education, Behavioural Competencies And Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in science or business-related field and/or equivalent Diploma.
- Minimum 7 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in scientific publications within Medical Affairs.
- Strong understanding of GPP and other industry standards; CMPP preferred.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and project management experience in leading cross-functional projects.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and present key information objectively and collaborate effectively with management.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance guidelines governing industry scientific publications.
- Applied knowledge of performance measurement (e.g., metrics, dashboards).
- Project leadership and management skills are required to add to the ability to work on cross-functional teams and to prioritize operational needs effectively.
- Proven ability to delegate in a matrix environment, predict issues, anticipate risks, and solve problems.
- Thrives in a dynamic and multi-stakeholder environment.

- Hybrid role, based in Cambridge, MA. Must be able to attend in-person meetings in Cambridge, MA as business necessitates.

U.S. Base Salary Range
$149,100.00 - $234,300.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
