Job description

Join our pioneering energy firm as a Category Management Advisor specializing in Procurement for Software & AI. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work remotely while making significant contributions to a more sustainable future in Southern California. Leverage your expertise in software procurement, artificial intelligence, and cloud technology to drive our digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete procurement lifecycle for categories of medium to high risk and complexity.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to incorporate their requirements into the sourcing and contracting processes.
  • Design and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
  • Facilitate and lead proposal evaluations, providing recommendations for contract awards.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of category strategies aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies, driving cost savings, and fostering innovation.
  • Assess supplier qualifications and explore alternative supplier options.
  • Drive contract negotiations in collaboration with internal teams, including Legal and Finance, to minimize risks.
  • Enhance supplier alliances and effectively resolve conflicts.
  • Analyze internal spending patterns and market data to inform strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with internal clients and suppliers to optimize overall costs.
  • Guide clients on contract management practices to ensure compliance with procurement policies.
  • Document all processes to demonstrate adherence to sourcing and contracting protocols.
  • Facilitate pilot programs or proof of concept initiatives.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned (limited to 5% of overall responsibilities).

Required Skills

  • Proficient in contract management and capable of evaluating supplier performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Competent in reviewing and revising statements of work to ensure clarity and completeness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of pertinent experience in contracting, category management, or strategic sourcing.
  • Preferred experience in project management related to procurement roles.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Salary Range:
    • Minimum: $84,000
    • Mid Point: $105,000
    • Maximum: $126,000
  • This role includes eligibility for an annual performance-based incentive (bonus).

Work Schedule

  • HYBRID: This position typically allows for a combination of onsite and remote work, generally 2-3 days in the office each week.
