Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage software development teams to ensure timely delivery of complex projects within budget constraints.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, partners, engineering teams, quality assurance, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with team leads to optimize resource allocation across various products and platforms.
  • Partner with project managers and engineers to oversee sprint management, story creation, and task estimation.
  • Uphold technical and coding standards, contributing to the evolution of application frameworks and libraries.
  • Assist in the management of architectural risks while ensuring the sustainability, deployability, and security of systems.
  • Resolve technical disputes and facilitate necessary trade-offs.
  • Ensure the provision of professional technical documentation.
  • Engage in hardware environment planning and collaborate with Dev/Ops on managing lower environments.
  • Streamline delivery processes and propose quality enhancements.
  • Participate in strategic planning, product road mapping, and tactical discussions.
  • Recruit and onboard new developers/engineers and manage contract resources.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration through proactive communication.
  • Support after-hours and weekend maintenance releases and provide level 3 support.
  • Ensure team availability aligns with project milestones.
  • Occasional travel within the U.S. and internationally may be required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Management, MIS, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry certifications and coursework in Project Management, SCRUM Master, Ethics, Communication, and Management.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while effectively managing multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and management skills.
  • Extensive experience in managing software development teams, including recruitment, performance evaluation, and coaching.
  • Aptitude for translating complex requirements into structured software components.
  • Quick adaptability with hands-on expertise in .NET, C#, ASP.net, SQL Server, Azure, RESTful services, GraphQL, JavaScript, and various other programming languages.
  • Strong database design expertise, particularly with high-volume OLTP systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, Lucidchart, Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of experience managing software development across diverse teams and software types.
  • 10+ years of delivering enterprise-level software solutions, including mobile and distributed applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, decision-making skills, risk management, and problem-solving acumen.
  • History of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including C-level executives.
  • Proficient in Agile, Test Driven Development, Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), and Waterfall methodologies.
