You'll be working in a team building from scratch a brand new mobile experience for one of the largest resorts and casinos company in South-East Asia with the focus on its most valuable Guests. User experience is a key and so tight collaboration between Design, Engineering and Product team will be essential. It is not a one time application but more an evolving product that will have to grow fast so high engineering standards are important. One of the goals is to build out sustainable CD process and ship product increments at a regular iterations.

As a Backend Engineer, you’ll be responsible for crafting usable, adaptable, reliable, and secure software. You’ll use the latest lean and agile thinking to solve tough problems and challenge yourself every day. You’ll play an important role in driving our digital projects to success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent work or training experience
• Minimum of 5 years working on micro-services / web-based systems
• Experience working in a product-oriented, team-based environment that uses modern digital delivery approaches such as user experience design, lean, agile, DevOps, and cloud computing
• Proficiency with Java 17
• Proficiency with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud frameworks
• Experience with RDS (MySQL)
• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes
• Ability to write Unit tests and follow TDD principles
• Strong understanding of design patterns, OOP, development methodologies
• Experience with micro-services architecture and REST

Nice to have

• Experience with ELK
• Knowledge of AWS services: S3, Secrets, SES, EC2
• Understanding of messaging systems principles (Kafka, Rabbit, etc.)
• Experience with Kafka, MQTT
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs also by means of tools like Swagger
• Experience with NodeJs, express

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to design, implement, and deploy new mobile applications and improvements
• to existing mobile applications.
• Develop new functionalities.
• Maintain production systems, perform root cause analysis of issues.
• Active participation in the Scrum process.
• Ensure good testing coverage of unit and integration testing.
• Participate in peer design and code reviews.
• Proactively collaborate with teammates.
