Category Account Manager (Early Childhood Focus)- Bilingual

The Category Account Manager (CAM) is the product category expertise in the team sell process, focusing on strategic accounts and category sales in their territory. As part of its 21st Century Safe School value proposition, they will leverage their understanding of their category to develop and provide solutions to customer needs. Their goal is to maximize strategic product category penetration while building category market share across the territory they cover by leveraging their understanding of the education market, and customers. The role involves consultative selling to execute strategy and increase market penetration within the team selling environment. Accountable to meet or exceed individual sales budgets while fostering team collaboration.

The base salary range for this role is $78K-$104K US ($106,860-$142,480 CAD), as well as a quarterly commission plan.

Summary Of Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement the category sales plan for an assigned set of strategic customers in Canada within the Early Childhood market. For each strategic account, the CSA will assist in the development and maintaining a Category Growth Plan based on relevant information gathered on the district to include among other things, purchasing behaviors, competitive dynamics, district priorities, legislative impact, and budgetary factors.
  • Align their territory Category Growth within the Company's overall 21st Century Safe School value proposition. The objectives will take into consideration the current level of business with the customer and the estimated overall opportunity for the customer based on a spend-per-student penetration analysis maintained by the Company.
  • Understand the complexity of customer accounts as it pertains to their category. Participate in the design and implementation of the territory's category strategy to address category growth. Develop and maintain relationships with various levels of contacts including administrative staff, purchasing personnel, school Principals, Superintendents, and School Board members.
  • The role will be expected to actively participate in coordinating and assisting the territory team in developing the Strategic Category Business Plans for customers, by understanding the financial dynamics and performance of accounts (i.e. dollars spent per student) and category penetration.
  • Maximize effectiveness using tools and resources (Stratum & OneForce) to focus efforts on driving business and addressing white space opportunities. The role is required to fully utilize the Company's customized version of Salesforce.com, referred to internally as OneForce.
  • The role will be expected to manage a travel & entertainment budget and budgets related to other business expenses, such as: samples and trade show/conferences related costs. All of which will done to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and budget.
  • This role will be required to successfully complete ongoing proficiency and professional development training. This training will consist of various applicable topics and include spending time in the fulfillment centers and within other departments to better understand the operational flow of the organization and other support functions.

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • 3-7 years of successful outside sales experience required
  • Acceptable driving record, valid driver's license, and insurance in a program-compliant automobile
  • Must be bilingual in English and Quebecois French

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • 4-year college degree (Business, Marketing or Education preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel
  • Proficiency in the use of CRM (e.g., SalesForce.com)
  • Sales Process Skills – time management, territory management, financial management and question and probing skills.
  • Builds networks including social media

Travel

  • This position requires approximately 30% travel
