Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a Technical Project Engineer to support our collaborations with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The ideal candidate will be passionate about eliciting, shaping, and communicating the product vision, and understand that products are built collaboratively with end-users, stakeholders, and development teams to understand and fulfill the needs of the users. The Product Owner is a driven leader, relationship builder, and knows how to set, monitor, and measure progress towards product goals using Agile tools and methods. They can understand and communicate the needs of the customers and are flexible to the needs of the customer and team. The Product Owner has a passion for working on important problems that have an impact on millions of users.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborates with customers, end-users, and stakeholders to understand and anticipate their needs and translate needs into product requirements.
  • Define the product vision and create a road map based on this vision.
  • Manages the product backlog and prioritizes the work based on changing requirements/objectives/goals and ensures work aligns with the product strategy.
  • Oversees all stages of product development including design, development, and deployment.
  • Works with the team and customer to create/define/refine user stories based on goals and objectives and ensure they are clearly understood.
  • Work with scrum master to mitigate impediments to achieving sprint/release goals.
  • Monitors and evaluates product progress and communicates information to stakeholders and customers.
  • Serves as a liaison with the product team, customer, and stakeholders to deliver information/updates.
  • Works with Agile Coaches and others within the team to grow within the role.
  • Has a desire to learn, flexible, delivery-oriented with abilities to empower the development team.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with the business delivery teams, leadership, senior management and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, analysis capability, strong analytical, problem solving, and planning skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills, presentation, and delivery skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Experience with Atlassian product suite including Confluence and Jira.
  • Participates and facilitates agile ceremonies.
  • Experience to have a solid understanding of the product lifecycle
  • Basic understanding of software development practices
  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) knowledge is desirable.
  • Federal work experience preferred.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
