Job Responsibilities
- Providing management decision support through the design, development, and preparation of accurate, relevant, and timely financial statements, reporting and analysis.
- Researching and analyzing complex accounting transactions, financial results, and trends.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Leading special projects and ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Analyzing accounting and reporting processes, recommending, and initiating improvements.
Job Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Experience
- 5 years - Work experience in an accounting/financial position is required.
- 1 year - Experience with automated financial systems and database retrieval
- Weighted equivalent years of relevant work experience - 1 year experience in public accounting = 2 years of applicable work experience
Skills\Certifications
- Attention to detail, exceptional documentation abilities, and organizational skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to perform non-routine analytical tasks
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Capacity to solve problems and manage multiple assignments with critical deadlines
- Ability to work with all levels of staff and management
- Solid understanding of financial/accounting theory
Blues Plan Accounting experience highly preferred.
