Job Title: Finance Business Partner (Fully Remote, 6-Month Contract)

Due to a secondment, we are seeking a talented Finance Business Partner to join our team on a fully remote basis for a 6-month contract.

Role Overview

As the Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in driving informed decision-making by providing accurate and insightful management information. You will work closely with Business Heads, offering financial expertise and leading financial modelling to support both ongoing and potential projects.

In this role, you will offer constructive challenges to ensure financial strategies align with the organisation's goals. Additionally, you will serve as the subject-matter expert for all finance systems, in particular our new integration of our finance system which is currently being project managed into the business. You will be collaborating with operational teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and their teams to achieve profitability and strategic objectives. You will act as the subject-matter expert for finance systems, ensuring seamless integration between internal and external interfaces, while assisting with monthly reconciliations.

A key responsibility is driving continuous improvement of finance processes across operational business units, working closely with stakeholders to implement enhancements. You'll coordinate the annual budget and re-forecasting exercises, aligning them with budget holders' expectations for Board approval. Additionally, you will produce management accounts, financial reports, analysis, and cash flow forecasts to inform decision-making and maximise investment returns.

  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop and implement financial strategies.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the development of business cases for new initiatives and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

What You'll Need To Succeed

You will be a full or partially-qualified accountant with strong accounting skills and a thorough understanding of month-end processes, from journal posting to the production of management accounts and regular reporting.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with various finance systems and be a highly competent Excel user, skilled in using functions like VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and pivot tables.

You should have a demonstrated ability to test systems, identify areas for improvement, and write clear processes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to quickly build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

An aptitude for technology, combined with the ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-changing environment, is crucial for success in this dynamic role.
