Based in the National Capital Region, Pivot Path Solutions, LLC is a government contracting and management consulting firm that offers enterprise IT solutions, strategic planning, organizational development, and business transformation services to help customers adapt and thrive in changing market conditions. Pivot Path Solutions is seeking an experienced IT Solution Architect/Proposal Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position focuses on crafting innovative technical solutions and supporting business development efforts through proposal development in the government contracting space. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud services, agile development, and digital transformation and will leverage this expertise to drive winning technical solutions for federal and DoD proposals. This is a remote position, but candidates are preferred in Washington D.C. metro area. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Solutioning: Lead the design and development of technical solutions in response to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs across IT modernization, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
  • Proposal Development: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert during proposal development phases, translating technical requirements into clear, compliant, and compelling content that aligns with customer needs and government standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Capture and Proposal teams to ensure the technical solution is competitive, compliant, and executable. Collaborate with other SMEs, engineers, and leadership to ensure proposals align with corporate capabilities and strategies.
  • Technical Writing: Author, edit, and review technical proposal sections, including solution architecture, technical approach, staffing, and management plans.
  • Requirements Analysis: Analyze government solicitations to identify key technical requirements and develop corresponding solution strategies. Ensure technical solutions meet performance requirements and government standards (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP).
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to integrate cutting-edge practices into technical proposals, such as cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Agile methodologies (SAFe), and DevSecOps practices.
  • Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings, requirements gathering sessions, and solution presentations as part of the business development and capture process.
  • Compliance: Ensure all technical content is compliant with government solicitation requirements, including page limits, formatting, and submission guidelines.
  • Post-Award Transition Support: Assist in transitioning proposed solutions to delivery teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of awarded contracts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT solution architecture or technical proposal writing within the federal contracting industry.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), cybersecurity, Agile development (SAFe), and IT infrastructure.
  • Proven experience writing winning technical content for government proposals, preferably within the DoD, Health IT, or Intelligence sectors.
  • Experience developing technical solutions aligned with government frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex technical solutions into simple, clear, and compelling narratives.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, multitask, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, small business environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large government proposals and understanding of federal acquisition and procurement processes.
  • Professional certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, PMP, or SAFe Agile.
  • Previous experience supporting business development and capture management efforts.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
