Basic Job Functions: 

This position will be responsible for the management of assigned power plants within the US Region 2 covering sites in Nevada, Idaho, and Utah. Will ensure sites adhere to all regulatory, company, and department policies and procedures. Guide plant personnel in the areas of safety, production, maintenance, and business, including annual budgets. Will manage timing and execution of the assigned sites staffing strategy in the US region, as per the AOP and department requirements. Will work closely with Contract Management to ensure adherence to negotiated obligations for each site within the US region. Will also support O&M BD to supply technical, inventory, mobilization, and staffing strategies to help secure future growth in the O&M portfolio.

Experience:                        

  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 years management in the utility or energy industry encompassing operations, maintenance, performance reporting, and outage management.

Education:

  • Preferred: BS in business management or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: MBA or other related Business qualifications is highly desirable. 

 Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Construction, Commissioning, Power Plant Maintenance, Power Plant Operations, and Electricity Markets.
  • Ability to generate and present concise and coherent reports and presentations to executive-level senior management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of commitment to the customer’s success.
  • Ability to share technical expertise with team members and the customer.
  • Ability to interpret and understand contractual requirements.
  • Ability to develop annual capital and operation budget and manage costs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of power plant, EH&S compliance, budgeting, personnel management, operations, and maintenance.
  • Thorough knowledge of the power generation business. 
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory issues, and relationships with utilities and other customers.
  • Strong Leadership Skills – In the context of a high-growth company and results-oriented culture, he/she will achieve team and career success through developing and motivating their team.
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of focus on resolution of day-to-day issues.
  • Embodies a “can-do” attitude and meets goals despite roadblocks.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Sr. Vice President of Global Operations to ensure consistency throughout the US region.
  • Management of all assigned US region sites.
  • Develop and maintain regional staffing strategy and ensure the plan is executed as required to successfully support the O&M contractual requirements. 
  • Manage policies, programs, staffing levels, training efforts, environment, and safety issues.
  • Collaborate closely with all assigned sites to develop budgets, reporting, analysis, engineering, and general conduct of business in accordance with the O&M business requirements.
  • Ensure that the assigned power plant costs are managed according to AOP and all applicable project budgets.
  • Ensure all aspects of the assigned power plants O&M agreements are adhered to. 
  • Ensures strict adherence to corporate values in complying with all regulatory requirements including safety, environmental, reliability and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage the mobilization of all new US Power Plants.
  • Manage the fleet inventory strategy and process for all NA sites.
  • Estimated travel expected = 25%.
  • Territory defined; Region 2 = Nevada, Idaho, and Utah.
