About this Position

The Mortgage Processor will manage the loan pipeline and help ensure loan-related files are submitted and closed on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy and completeness. The role requires you to be the liaison between the mortgage lending underwriting department, mortgage loan originators, and applicants to facilitate loan approval and closing. You will have significant contact with both our field sales force and borrowers, while being supported by the Mortgage Marketing Directors. The desire to assist and train is critical to our success.

This is a remote position. Candidates must be able to work 9AM-6PM PST.

The estimated salary range for this role is: $65K - $70K

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Essential Job Duties

  • The Mortgage Processor will receive inbound calls and emails throughout the day from both internal stakeholders and borrowers needing assistance on a loan in process.   It would be their responsibility to assist the team member and/or borrower in resolving the issue and provide the appropriate coaching/feedback to the appropriate party.
  • The Mortgage Processor will utilize pipeline reports daily to ensure loans are moving through the process in a timely manner.   This includes obtaining all necessary loan documentation for every file registered with the lender, submitting complete loan packages to the lender for underwriting approval, and coordinating the closing once all loan requirements are met.
  • The Mortgage Processor will partner with 3rd party vendors to correct errors impacting the borrower's credit report, disclosure package, and loan application.  It would also be their responsibility to appropriately coach the MLO on best practices to limit these errors that may delay the loan process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 - 3 years mortgage loan processing experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication abilities are required.  
  • Exceptional time management and attention to detail skills are necessary. 
  • Desktop Underwriting (DU) and/or Loan Product Advisor (LPA) experience required.  
  • Obtain Mortgage Loan Officer license within 180 days, if not already licensed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FHA/VA product experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred
