Description:

We are seeking a Cash Applications Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and contribute to the growth and success of our firm. This position offers the flexibility to work from home. Periodic in-office presence is required for monthly team meetings, events, and training opportunities. The position will be based in the Firm’s operation center in Brandon, FL (Tampa Bay area).

The Cash Applications Specialist will provide financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate posting of receivables for the Cash Application Department.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Knowledge to proficiently handle all aspects of the cash application process, including posting ACH, wires, credit card, and lockbox payments, while following established procedures in accordance with firm policies.

  • Perform various types of client account adjustments, such as credit transfers, application of unapplied funds, write-offs, and refunds.

  • Proficient in performing client account reconciliations.  

  • Analytical and investigative approach in the resolution of unidentified funds.

  • Research and resolve email inquiries with accuracy.

  • Perform duties of information management, scanning, and retrieving payment backup as needed.

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff via phone, email, or in person.

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed, in particular during peak volumes at year end.

  • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 2 + years accounts receivable and general accounting experience.

  • Must be professional and ethical with high integrity.

  • Strong attention to detail, with analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Capability to perform duties independently with attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, confidential environment.

  • Precise communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. (Outlook, Excel, and Word)

  • Proficient knowledge of accounting functions and computer applications.

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but may be substituted for relevant work experience.
