NPPG has partnered exclusively with People*Strata on their search for a DB & DC Plan Administrator.  Candidates will receive white glove service throughout the selection process.

NPPG (https://www.nppg.com/https://www.nppg.com/) is an independent third-party administrator (TPA) that offers employee benefits, retirement planning, actuarial consulting, and fiduciary services.  We provide clients with customized and comprehensive solutions for medical, dental, and disability insurance as well as 401(k), pension/actuarial and fiduciary services. NPPG operates as a trusted partner to ~8,000 clients nationally.

We are currently looking for a full-time Defined Benefit (DB) / Defined Contribution (DC) Plan Administrator.  This new hire may be fully remote within the US or will be welcome to work on-site in our Shrewsbury, New Jersey headquarters.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with DB and DC plan clients as well as with NPPG colleagues and vendors.
  • Draft, review, and assist clients with the filing process for the:
    • IRS Form 5500.
    • Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) Comprehensive Premium Form for determining premium payments to comply with PBGC regulations.
    • IRS Form 8955-SSA.
  • Review and deliver the participant annual funding notice and actuarial AFTAP.
  • Review and communicate the financial impacts of the ASC 715 Pension Expense Calculation (including settlement transactions) and Disclosure.
  • Review and communicate results related to the actuarial valuation.
  • Review and deliver benefit calculations and projected benefit estimates, including QDROs, RMDs and in service distribution.
  • Conduct the following for clients’ defined contribution plans:
    • Actual Deferral Percentage (ADP) testing.
    • Actual Contribution Percentage (ACP) testing.
    • Top heavy analysis / determination.
    • Satisfaction of IRS coverage and non-discrimination testing.
    • Determination of plan eligibility, employer contributions, as well as optimum and maximum tax-deductible amounts.
    • Reconciliation of plan assets.
    • Processing of participant distributions and loans as well as 401(k) contributions.
  • Conduct annual regulatory compliance testing for both solo and combo.
  • Prepare plan terminations including Form 500 series for PBGC plans.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency with various software applications to become efficient in completing client.
  • Serve as a technical resource to Actuarial.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of ERISA, FASB and GASB.
  • Develop proposal illustrations.
  • Maintain turnaround time to meet clients’ requirements and the department's timing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years with a third-party administrator (TPA) working as a Defined Benefit (DB) Plan Administrator of single-employer plans OR minimum 1 year as a Defined Benefit (DB) Plan Administrator of single-employer plans AND minimum 3 years as a Defined Contribution (DC) Plan Administrator position.
  • Experience with all the following:
    • administration of defined benefit plans from start-to-finish
    • completion of form 5500
    • annual contribution calculations
    • defined benefit plan valuation
    • non-discrimination testing
    • compliance testing
    • interpretation of plan documents
    • Relius, ASC, or another retirement plan administration tool
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience successfully managing time, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work autonomously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish rapport and provide quality customer service
  • High level of organization and attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience administering combination ("combo") defined benefit & defined contribution plans
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERISA and FASB
  • Experience with defined contribution plan valuation
  • Experience as the point of contact for a client's internal plan administrator as well the client's financial advisor(s)
