We have ambitious growth plans and are seeking an accomplished Director of Engineering who has a business value driven approach, a quality, security, & production accountability mindset, and can lead product engineering teams through architecture, design, & delivery of services & product features for our customers. The right candidate is someone who cares deeply about their team, coaches for high performance in a fast-paced environment, works effectively with their counterparts in product, business, and the rest of the organization. They know how to bring out the best in their team members and keep them focused on delivery and they can provide technical guidance to help achieve a successful balance of scalable, sustainable short- and long- term architecture. This position is full-time and offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining both remote and on-site work if located in the Alpharetta area.


RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage engineering teams and be responsible for your organization's productivity, product and system health, and impact. 

  • Lead and grow your team with superior engineering talent. 

  • Retain, coach, and improve the performance of existing engineers in your organization. 

  • Participate in developing the engineering vision and roadmaps for your organization. North star. 3, 6, 9, 12 month plans. 

  • Define, prioritize, and guide your teams in development discussions, map functional requirements to technical designs and actively participate in project timelines. 

  • Strong point of view on architecture, design, execution and working with engineering managers and leads that milestones are tracked to and delivered upon. 

  • Help the team make the right decisions and that we have the right approach aligned to the right problem. 

  • Monitor, with the architect, that we’re not deviating from our strategic direction. 

  • Help implement effective engineering processes and policies, including fostering our engineering development culture. 

  • Advocate for the continuous improvement and predictability of your teams. 

  • Always prepared to give an update to the exec on state of the union of domain, including dashboarding metrics for easy consumption. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners in execution and delivery of large projects.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience which includes at least 5 years of proven success in building and managing high performing engineering teams. 

  • Proven track record of partnering with leaders and stakeholders across the company to build out a high level roadmap and vision for an organization. 

  • Experience in contributing to architecture and design efforts that enables product engineering teams to deliver fast and reliably and can scale appropriately as the company grows. 

  • Extensive experience with ERP/Accounting integration a must. 

  • In-depth understanding of architectural patterns of large scale financial applications. 

  • Hands-on experience with microservices, RESTful services, cloud computing platforms (AWS), web security, logging, performance monitoring. 

  • Extensive experience with software development lifecycle, methodologies, and best practices. 

  • Strong Data-driven mindset and ability to use metrics to effectively communicate with cross functional teams and leaders.

  • Business Knowledge on financial services domain experiences.


Compensation and Benefits: 

  • Compensation range: $138k - $260k

Traditional Physical Requirements
