JOB PURPOSE

As a Senior Frontend Developer  (FED), you'll be responsible for building and maintaining the user-facing aspects of web applications. You’ll work independently on straightforward tasks, taking full ownership of both design and coding. A FED works with web applications and a variety of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.


In addition to coding, you’ll provide regular progress updates and accurate time estimates for your tasks. These estimates will be reviewed and approved by senior developers or the project’s technical lead to ensure alignment with project goals.



JOB DETAILS: 

  • Location: 100% Remote – open to candidates based in Central America, Mexico, or Colombia.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CR Time Zone
  • Language Proficiency: Spanish: Native / English: B2+ reading, writing, and conversation
  • Immediate availability preferred.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES


  • Develop React web applications that adhere to the latest web standards and cutting-edge front-end technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain high-performance web applications using React.
  • Owns the development of web applications and ensures they follow the overall technical architecture and design established by the technical lead.
  • Implements user and business requirements which are composed of multiple development activities.
  • Work closely with Creative, Business, Technology, and QA teams to ensure quality and timely web development.
  • Ensure compatibility of code across devices and viewport sizes.
  • Assess and optimize page performance and WCAG compliance.
  • Translate graphical designs and wireframes into fully styled markup code.
  • Implement technical solutions that follow best practices set by the Capability.
  • Utilize CI/CD services to deploy and maintain cloud-based applications through a GitFlow process.
  • Ensure concise and clear project documentation is maintained according to Capability guidelines and best practices.
  • Proactively offer feedback on policies and procedures when opportunities for improvement exist.
  • Maintains up-to-date and complete documentation on projects as dictated by the capability’s guidelines and best practices
  • Debugs or troubleshoots complex issues in existing web applications


REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent experience as a Software Developer


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience working with React and its frameworks: Next.js, Remix, or React Router.
  • In-depth knowledge of React fundamentals, including modern features such as hooks, higher-order components (HOCs), custom hooks, and state management tools.
  • Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, particularly in the context of React.
  • Strong experience with HTML5, Semantic Web, CSS3, and CSS3-based animation for responsive, consumer-facing websites.
  • Knowledge of pre-processed CSS styling (SASS, LESS)
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and responsive development.
  • Extensive experience creating animations using CSS, JavaScript, GSAP, or similar libraries.
  • Excellent understanding of Javascript, including the OOP concept and how shadow DOM and DOM work.
  • Proficiency in modern development practices (e.g., Mobile First, MVC, Object-Oriented development).
  • Capable of writing code compliant with modern accessibility (e.g. ARIA, WCAG, Microformats, ADA, RDF) and SEO guidelines and best practices
  • Work experience with automation, task builders, and pre-processing tools (e.g.. Webpack, Vite.js, Gulp, Grunt)
  • Extensive experience integrating web solutions with external web services, including proficiency in SOAP, REST, and GraphQL.
  • Fluency with data transfer formats and protocols popular in web applications (e.g. JSON, XML, HTTP)
  • Work experience with compatible Content Management Systems like Adobe Experience Manager or Contentful will be desirable.
  • Knowledge in accessibility and SEO best practices.
  • Capable of working with version control systems (SVN, GIT, Mercurial) 
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools and development pipelines.
  • Capable of troubleshooting, debugging, and conducting root cause analysis of web applications.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence.


    IT IS A PLUS IF:

    • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) on version 6.3 or later, or enterprise CMS it's a plus.
    • Experience with tools used to optimize and maintain front-end build systems
    • Experience in Digital Agencies projects, Web development projects, SCRUM/Agile software projects).
