Job description

Our client, a top 100 law firm, is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to handle a varied caseload focusing on higher-value and complex claims, particularly those involving NHS Hospital Trusts and/or GPs. You will manage both pre-issue and issued cases, with opportunities to work on catastrophic injury claims, including birth injury cases. You will be supported by a secretary and an assistant to help achieve your targets.

This role requires a solicitor who can work with seriously injured claimants, offering empathy and understanding while managing risk assessments within the clinical negligence field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handling a diverse range of clinical negligence cases with a focus on high-value, complex claims.
  • Managing pre-issue and issued cases, including catastrophic injury claims.
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and providing empathetic support to claimants.
  • Collaborating with a dedicated support team (secretary and assistant).
  • Contributing to the team's success and developing your own professional reputation.

Candidates with Law Society or AVMA accreditation are highly encouraged to apply. If you have not yet pursued accreditation, our Head of Department, who is an approved Clinical Negligence panel assessor, will support and assist you in achieving this.



Requirements
  • Experience: Strong experience in clinical negligence, particularly handling higher-value claims and issued cases.
  • Billing Track Record: Demonstrated success in managing a mixed caseload and meeting key performance indicators.
  • Skills: Strong CPR and litigation skills, with a tenacious approach to achieving the best outcomes for clients.
  • Client Care: Excellent ability to provide compassionate, client-focused care.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of the Proclaim case management system.
  • Team Player: Willingness to contribute to the team’s continued success.
  • Consideration for PI Candidates: Applications from candidates with strong personal injury experience handling high-value cases will also be considered.
  • Accreditation: Ideally, candidates should have Law Society or AVMA accreditation, though this is not essential.
  • Sector Knowledge: Understanding of current issues within the clinical negligence landscape.
  • Marketing and Writing Skills: Experience in writing blogs or contributing to marketing efforts is an advantage.
  • Engagement: Willingness to attend marketing and fundraising events.

  • Working Hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:30am to 5:30pm; Friday: 8:30am to 5pm (flexibility available).
