Tax Compliance

  • Preparation of income tax returns and activity statements for individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts.
  • Preparation and referencing of workpapers including tax reconciliation, fixed asset register, rental property calculations, motor vehicle calculations, FX calculations and capital gain/loss calculations.
  • Proactively manage tax lodgement list and coordinate with internal teams and client teams to ensure that tax filing deadlines are identified and met in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with the ATO and client in relation to tax payments, lodgements, payment plans and interest remissions.

Accounting

  • Preparation of annual financial statements for private companies.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including analytical review within the required time frames.
  • Calculate and post intercompany transactions such as interest charges and service fee invoices.
  • Provide guidance and training to bookkeepers and junior staff and review financials and tax preparation tasks completed by them.
  • Lead month end close process including AR/AP cut off, bank / loan reconciliations and posting of month-end journals.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience gained in an Australian BPO will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, finance or accounting.
  • Fully qualified in CA / CIMA / ACCA / CPA.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to build rapport and relationships with English speaking internal and external stakeholders.
