Senior Sales Commission Analyst (US - Remote)

Department: Finance & Accounting 

Reports to: Manager, Accounting 

Responsibilities: 

  • Compensation Calculation and Administration: Accurately calculate commissions, spiffs, and variable comp earned bonuses for sales teams based on established performance metrics and targets. Ensure timely and accurate payouts in alignment with sales compensation plans. 
  • Plan Input and Administration: Implement and manage incentive compensation plans for sales and other roles within the organization. 
  • Commission Inbox Management: Oversee the Commissions Inbox, meticulously monitoring and promptly responding to all commissions-related inquiries and requests. Ensure thorough follow-up and resolution of issues to maintain seamless operations. 
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct complex compensation data analyses, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Prepare and present detailed reports on incentive compensation outcomes and effectiveness. 
  • Performance Metrics and Targets: Collaborate with sales leadership to establish and refine performance metrics and targets, ensuring they are clearly communicated and understood across the organization. 
  • OTE, CTE, and Run Rates Analysis: Calculate and analyze On-Target Earnings, Held Committed Target Earnings, and run rates to provide sales teams and management with clear expectations and targets for performance and earnings. This will aid in setting transparent and motivating goals for sales personnel. 
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure all incentive compensation programs comply with relevant laws and company policies, maintaining high standards of governance and oversight. 
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Accounting, Finance, Sales, and other departments to ensure incentive compensation plans are aligned with business strategies and operational goals. 
  • Technology and Systems Expertise: Utilize advanced compensation management software and systems, such as PowerBI and Xactly, to efficiently administer plans and enhance decision-making through robust data analytics. Create modeling analytics and IC programming for sales incentives for the various sales teams across the different regions. Makes recommendations for system enhancements based on strategic objectives and changing business needs. 
  • Yearly Incentive Compensation Planning: Participate in the sales incentive design and modeling process, partnering closely with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and Sales Leadership. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • CCP certification is a plus 
  • At least 5 years of experience in compensation analysis, design, and administration, with a focus on incentive compensation 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights 
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerBI 
  • Experience with ICM/SPM software is required, Xactly, is preferred 
  • Proficiency in SQL: Candidates must demonstrate the ability to write SQL queries for Xactly Connect, optimize database performance, and manage data transformations for analytical purposes 
  • Knowledge of compensation laws, regulations, and best practices 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
