Research Analyst – Wireless Connectivity

Description

Reporting to the Senior Research Director of our Wireless Connectivity research service, the successful candidate will contribute to and help drive our research on short-range wireless connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 802.15.4 and Ultra-wideband. The role requires a proactive individual able to gather first-hand intelligence from the industry and work as a part of an ambitious team to produce premium quantitative and qualitative analysis of the wireless connectivity market across all aspects of the value chain. This will include coverage of both the underlying connectivity technologies themselves and how they are applied across key market sectors including mobile devices, PCs, connected home devices, wearables, automotive, and a wide range of other consumer, commercial, and industrial IoT related applications.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Author syndicated research reports, market forecasts, and articles covering wireless connectivity technologies and markets in which they are deployed.
• Work on custom research and consulting projects, providing leadership on approach and methodology.
• Engage and maintain strong relationships with key industry players at the research and commercial levels.
• Represent ABI Research as a key industry expert in the wireless connectivity market.
• Provide existing clients with strategic advice and insights on wireless connectivity market trends.
• Help to develop the Wireless Connectivity service, providing guidance and input based on clients’ needs and industry trends.
• Maintain a high industry profile by participating in industry events, delivering webinars, interacting with the press, and being active on social media (e.g., LinkedIn and Twitter).
• Support sales and business development by preparing customer-specific analyses and participating in key meetings with clients, prospects, and partners.
• Support and share expertise with other team members, including the marketing team and other ABI Research analysts.

• Advanced skills in manipulating Excel databases and data analytics.
• Experience in product management, new product development, product marketing, market research, or industry analysis is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with wireless connectivity technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 802.15.4, NFC, and Ultra-wideband, is highly desirable.
• Background in analytics, econometrics, business analysis, or technology is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree required.

Location:

ABI Research is fully remote in the U.S., with physical offices in the U.K. and Singapore. Analysts may be fully remote, report to an office, or operate in a hybrid role based on skills and experience.
